MVLS
MVLS may be able to provide free legal help if you have a limited income and are facing a civil legal issue in Maryland. Eligible applicants will be matched with a volunteer lawyer, tax professional, or special education advocate/consultant who can help resolve your case.
PBRC
PBRC is Maryland’s hub for pro bono (free) civil legal assistance provided by volunteers. As the pro bono arm of the Maryland State Bar Association, PBRC plays a unique role as the training, support, innovation, and advocacy center for pro bono.
The SOS Fund

The Emergency Mortgage & Housing Assistance Program (EMHAP) assists Baltimore City residents whose homes are facing foreclosure due to economic hardship
LIGHT Program
The Department of Housing and Community Development in Baltimore City helps people in need fix up their homes. We can help with things like repairing the roof, fixing heating, plumbing, and electricity.
Tax Sale Prevention
Tax Sale Coordination and Prevention Services assists homeowners in avoiding tax sale and understanding and navigating the tax sale process.
Water4All
Water4All is a new water billing discount program designed to create more equitable access to water assistance for more Baltimore City residents.

Energy Assistance Finder
BGE offers programs and services to help those in need, including energy assistance, help for customers with special needs, and ways for neighbors to help neighbors.
Energy Audits
The first step to discovering how to make your home more comfortable and energy efficient is to select a participating contractor and schedule a home energy audit. The cost for the audit is *$100 (a $400 value). Once the audit is completed, you may qualify for rebates averaging $3,000.
Energy Contractors
HNI has no affiliation with these contractors, this is purely educational. BGE's participating contractors are Building Performance Institute (BPI) certified. They have been specially trained to perform comprehensive assessments to identify ways to improve home comfort, increase energy efficiency and reduce energy costs.
MEA
The Maryland Energy Administration promotes clean, affordable, reliable energy and energy-related greenhouse gas emission reductions to benefit Marylanders in a just and equitable manner.
Clean Buildings Hub
The Hub is an initiative of the MEA which aims to empower building owners to make well-informed energy investments in their properties by connecting them to financial, educational, and technical assistance. ​​
